Getting into the Dire Maul Dungeon
Phase 2 of Classic Fresh: 20th Anniversary Edition is being released on January 9th, and with it comes the Dire Maul Dungeon, which features three distinct wings: East, West, and North. Each wing offers its own set of bosses, loot, and mechanics, all of which will be covered in this guide.
In World of Warcraft Classic Fresh, Dire Maul is located in Feralas, just below the Twin Colossals, as shown in the image below. The minimum level requirement is 45, with a recommended level of 55 or higher.
Dire Maul East Wing
This wing features 6 bosses:
- Pusillin
- Lethtendris
- Hydrospawn
- Zevrim Thornhoof
- Alzzin the Wildshaper
- Isalien
The East Wing is the only wing that can be accessed without a key.
Dire Maul West Wing
In the West Wing, you’ll encounter 8 bosses:
- Tendris Warpwood
- Magister Kalendris
- Tsu’zee
- Illyanna Ravenoak
- Immol’thar
- Prince Tortheldrin
- Lord Hel’nurath
- Revanchion
Dire Maul North Wing
This wing consists of 6 bosses:
- Guard Mol’dar
- Stomper Kreeg
- Guard Fengus
- Guard Slip’kik
- Captain Kromcrush
- King Gordok
After defeating the final boss, King Gordok, the Gordok Tribute Chest will appear. The loot in the chest depends on how many guards were killed:
- If all guards are left alive, the chest will contain the highest number of rare items.
- If any guards were killed, the chest will only contain uncommon items.
Unlocking the West and North Wings
Although the Dire Maul dungeon does not require attunement, one player in your party must have a Crescent Key to access the West and North wings.
The Crescent Key is dropped by Pusillin, the first boss of the East Wing. While Pusillin doesn’t have an extensive loot table, he drops the Crescent Key and the Recipe: Runn Tum Tuber Surprise. Despite his limited loot, Pusillin serves as a crucial stepping stone for accessing the other wings of Dire Maul.
